Every pharmacy, regardless of its size and commerciality, has to record its needs using statistical analysis in order to identify its strengths and weaknesses, evaluate its results and improve its performance.
Statistical analysis and evaluation, through quantitative and qualitative data, should include key areas such as:
- the tradability of the pharmacy’s products
- the assessment of the pharmacy’s awareness
- customer loyalty
- stock management
- the effectiveness of promotional activities
Each pharmacy can choose the appropriate procedure and proceed to the necessary comparisons and conclusions. Frequency is to be decided; the analysis can take place in a monthly, quarterly, half-yearly or yearly basis, possibly with interim evaluations.
The pharmacy’s results are to be compared with the average indicators of the local or the national industry; this way the pharmacist comes to safer conclusions, which will give the guideline for the actions to be taken in the future.
